LOS ANGELES, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Matthew McConaughey posted a message on MySpace to reassure fans he is doing well after recently injuring his eye, it was reported Wednesday.

In a Dec. 18 MySpace message with the heading "My Eye," the 38-year-old actor explained why some people may have seen him photographed with a bandage on his face, Usmagazine.com said.

"Hey all, want to thank everyone for their support," McConaughey wrote in the post. "I cut my eye (Ultimate Fighting Championship) training for my upcoming J.K. Livin comedy 'The Grackle' where I play a bar fight for hire. It was a clean cut, clean stitched, already looking good, just got another funny story to tell my kids one day. ...The Grackle's gonna have a lot of scars, but he gets sewn up by a vet. I'm glad I got to go to a real doctor."
