NAVARRE, Fla., Dec. 19 (UPI) -- A Florida man has died after being found unresponsive following a ride on Expedition Everest at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom theme park.

Disney officials said CPR was performed on 44-year-old Jeffery Reed, who bore no reported signs of trauma when he was found unresponsive Tuesday in the roller coaster's unloading dock.

He was taken to Celebration Hospital where he was pronounced dead, WKMG-TV in Orlando, Fla., reported.

Orange County sheriff's investigators said Reed was photographed during the roller coaster ride and appears to be conscious about 50 seconds before it ended.

Although the ride was inspected after the incident and found to be working properly, it has been closed while park bosses reconfirm it is working as it should, said a statement from Disney.

"We offer the family our deepest sympathies and will provide assistance to them during this difficult time," said Disney spokesperson Andrea Finger.
