British pop star Lily Allen pregnant

LONDON, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- British pop singer Lily Allen is reportedly pregnant with her first child by rocker boyfriend Ed Simons.

Allen, 22, gained fame after she posted her music on MySpace and developed a following. She also recently was signed on to perform in her own TV show for BBC3.

Simons, 37, is half of the duo Chemical Brothers.

Allen and she and Simons began dating in September.

"I am pleased to confirm that Lily Allen and her boyfriend, Ed Simons, are expecting their first child," a representative told the Daily Telegraph. "However, as the pregnancy is at a very, very early stage, the couple ask that you respect their privacy, as the health of Lily and their child is their paramount concern. As the pregnancy is at such an early stage, the couple will be making no further comment, but they are obviously both thrilled by the news."
