LONDON, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- British singer Amy Winehouse has been arrested in London on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, however, she has not been charged with any crime.
Winehouse's representative confirmed to the celebrity Web site TMZ.com that the troubled recording artist has been arrested, but emphasized that in England a person is technically arrested when they are brought in for questioning.
The report said Winehouse's arrest was made by appointment Tuesday.
Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is currently in jail after he was accused of interfering with a police investigation, a charge that stemmed from an alleged assault on a bartender in June.
Fielder-Civil was charged with grievous bodily harm in connection with the initial incident.
