LAS VEGAS, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- U.S. pop singer Michael Jackson was photographed with a bandaged face as he shopped with his three children at a Las Vegas book store during the weekend.

The entertainer's spokesman told the New York Post Jackson hadn't undergone any recent medical procedures and said he couldn't explain why singer was sporting bandages.

Experts contend Jackson has had numerous plastic surgery procedures on his face since his blockbuster "Thriller" album debuted in 1982, the New York Daily News said.

But the singer has only owned up to having minor work done on his nose to help him breathe and improve his singing range, the Post said.

He has blamed his facial transformation on vitiligo, a rare condition that destroys cells and can lead to white patches on skin.
