LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- The U.S. release date for "Valkyrie," Bryan Singer's movie about a botched attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler, reportedly has been pushed back several months.

Instead of opening June 27 as planned, the Tom Cruise vehicle will now hit theaters Oct. 3, the beginning of awards season, Variety.com reported Monday.

Singer has an important battle scene left to shoot and the filmmakers are still scouting for a location for it, the trade newspaper said.
