NEW YORK, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Mick Jagger's ex-wife, Bianca, has been evicted from her New York apartment in the midst of a lengthy legal battle with her landlord.
Bianca Jagger sued Katz Park Avenue Corp. because mold in her Manhattan apartment was making her sick, the New York Post said Thursday. She later became the subject of a countersuit.
Although Jagger had stopped living in the apartment years ago, she kept paying the $4,600-a-month rent into an escrow account, while her legal battles continued
A sheriff showed up at the 18th floor flat Wednesday and evicted her, sending her possessions off to storage.
Jagger's attorney, Daniel Bryson, told the Post she suspected the eviction was coming, but had no idea it would take place the day it did.
"This is an absolute travesty," Bryson said. "It's a retaliatory eviction -- she faithfully paid her rent every month and now they do this without letting anyone know in advance."
The Post said the landlord's attorneys did not return its calls.
