NEW YORK, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Singer, songwriter and author Rosanne Cash is recuperating at her home in New York after undergoing brain surgery late last month.
The surgery, to correct a structural problem caused by the rare, but benign condition Chiari 1 Malformation, was successful and she is expected to make a full recovery, Manhattan Records said in a statement Wednesday.

She also will resume her live-performance schedule in the spring and complete a new book to be published by Viking in early 2009, the statement said.
Cash is the daughter of the late country music icon Johnny Cash and his first wife, Vivian.
