LOS ANGELES, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- The 89-year-old man injured in the Los Angeles car crash that led to Gary Collins' arrest has died, TMZ.com reported Monday.

Collins, the TV personality who pleaded no contest to drunken driving charges last week in connection with the October accident, won't face manslaughter charges since the crash occurred because the victim made an illegal left turn, TMZ.com said, quoting prosecution sources.

In order to prosecute for manslaughter, the district attorney reportedly would have to prove Collins caused the accident.

Collins was sentenced last week to 96 hours in jail for the DUI charge.
