Heigl clarifies 'Knocked Up' comments

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Katherine Heigl says filming the movie "Knocked Up" was the best experience of her career.

The 29-year-old Heigl said she didn't mean to knock the movie when she told Vanity Fair magazine the script was sexist, People magazine reported Saturday.

"I was responding to previous reviews about the movie the interviewer brought to my attention," Heigl said in clarifying her comments. "My motive was to encourage other women like myself to not take that element of the movie too seriously and to remember that it's a broad comedy."

Heigl, who star's in TV's Grey's Anatomy, said everyone involved in making "Knocked Up" inspired her and she never intended for anyone to think otherwise.

In remarks to Vanity Fair, Heigl said the film "paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys. It was hard for me to love the movie."
