Madonna sues NYC co-op board

NEW YORK, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- U.S. pop singer Madonna is suing the co-op board of her New York City apartment building because it won't allow her to buy her neighbor's flat.

Madonna claimed in legal papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court that the board of her Central Park West building prevented her from closing on a deal to buy a neighbor's unit, the New York Post reported Friday.

The married mother of three is seeking a court order that would permit the sale to go ahead.

She also wants her legal fees and expenses paid.

The Post said board president Phyllis Harrison-Ross did not return its call seeking comment on the case.
