LOS ANGELES, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles judge says claims made by Hydroderm in a lawsuit against television star Teri Hatcher were tantamount to character assassination.
The judge hearing the case made the remark as she delayed the company's motion to start depositions, Usmagazine.com reported.
Hydroderm filed the lawsuit Tuesday, stating Hatcher endorsed a competing lip-enhancer and owed them the $2.4 million they paid her to exclusively promote their products because she violated their agreement.
But in a statement released Wednesday, the "Desperate Housewives" star called the allegations "totally false and completely without merit."
"Ms. Hatcher has not entered into any agreement with any other cosmetic or skincare companies ... Ms. Hatcher has done absolutely nothing wrong and has been ready, willing, able and eager to perform," attorneys for the actress said in court papers.
