Spurlock searches for bin Laden in new doc

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Rumors are circulating that U.S. documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock may have actually tracked down al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden.

"Where in the World Is Osama bin Laden?" follows Spurlock, who earned praise for his documentary "Super Size Me," as he treks across the Middle East looking for the same man the U.S. government has said for years it couldn't find.

Whether or not Spurlock discovered bin Laden's whereabouts is unclear, MSNBC said, noting the mystery around the film could be part of a clever marketing strategy.

Fueling the speculation that Spurlock may have found bin Laden, however, is a quote Variety attributed to Daniel Marracino, the film's director of photography, who said, "We've definitely got the Holy Grail."

The documentary is scheduled to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival early next year.
