ATLANTA, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- A teen dancing in the Atlanta Ballet's production of "The Nutcracker" is in critical, but stable condition after falling off the stage during a performance.
Leah Boresow, 17, was performing the new role of the baby Panda when she tumbled into the orchestra pit at the Fox Theatre during Sunday's matinee, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday.
In honor of Zoo Atlanta's mother and baby pandas, Lun Lun and Mei Lan, performers wearing giant panda costumes appear with ribbon dancers during the Chinese Dance.
Boresow was supposed to be Mei Lan.
"It's a new costume and this was only the second time we've performed in front of an audience. She just got a little disoriented," ballet spokesman Jeff Al-Mashat told the newspaper.
The show went on after Boresow fell and Al-Mashat said he didn't think the ballet plans to change the panda costume.
