WASHINGTON, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Leon Fleisher, Diana Ross, Brian Wilson, Steve Martin and Martin Scorsese have been recognized at the 30th Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C.
"In the careers of these five Americans, we see the very definition of excellence and passion," President Bush said during a White House reception for the performers before the evening's main event during the weekend, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The star-studded tribute will air on CBS on Dec. 26 and feature appearances by Cameron Diaz, Francis Ford Coppola, Robert De Niro, Steve Carell, Ricky Jay, Bill Irwin, Martin Short, Earl Scruggs, Kristin Chenoweth, Smokey Robinson, Jordin Sparks, Vanessa Williams, Ciara, Yolanda Adams, Yo-Yo Ma, Art Garfunkel, Lyle Lovett, Hootie & the Blowfish and the Rob Mathes Band, Variety.com said.
