Osbournes net $800,000 in charity auction

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Rocker Ozzy Osbourne and wife Sharon netted more than $800,000 for her colon cancer foundation by auctioning items from their former U.S. home.

Auction-goers from as far away as Germany bid in the Julien's Auctions event in Los Angeles for possessions from the couple's home, which was the scene of the family's MTV television hit, "The Osbournes," the BBC said Sunday.

Some of the items sold were a coffee cup of Ozzy's that fetched $1,625 and a pair of sneakers for $2,625.

"For a celebrity garage sale, it was pretty spectacular," said Darren Julien, owner of the auction company.
