Carville to be guest on new Imus show

NEW YORK, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- U.S. Democratic strategist James Carville says he will be a guest on the first airing of Don Imus' new radio show, USA Today reported Thursday.

Imus sparked a media firestorm last spring for making derogatory remarks about the Rutgers University women's basketball team and as a result was fired by CBS Radio and MSNBC.

He has been keeping a low profile since he apologized for the comments, but gave an exclusive interview to Barbara Walters on ABC's "20/20," which is slated to run Friday.

Imus is expected to make his return to the airwaves Monday in a new syndicated show on ABC Radio, which RFD-TV, a cable TV station, is set to simulcast to 30 million homes, USA Today said.

While Carville, a frequent guest on Imus' previous show, has said he will appear on the new program, other regulars, such as "Meet the Press" host Tim Russert and CBS' Jeff Greenfield, aren't discussing whether or not they intend to be guests on the new show.
