LONDON, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Singer Boy George, aka George O'Dowd, was freed on conditional bail Thursday after appearing in a London court for allegedly chaining a male escort to the wall.

George was scheduled for a Feb. 25 trial at London's Snaresbrook Crown Court on the charge of false imprisonment, The Sun reported Thursday.

The pop star allegedly committed the offense April 28 at his London apartment.

The BBC reported that the former Culture Club front man only spoke his name and date of birth during his Thursday court appearance.
