
NEW YORK, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- The British were the big winners at the 35th annual International Emmy awards ceremony in New York Monday night.
England's "The Street" won the prize for best drama series, while its star, Jim Broadbent, shared best actor honors with Pierre Bokma, a Dutch actor recognized for his role in "The Chosen One," The Hollywood Reporter said.
Muriel Robin was named best actress for her role in "Marie Besnard: The Poisoner," a French production, and "Death of a President," which debuted as a movie at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and ran as a mini-series in England, won for best TV movie/mini-series.
"Little Britain Abroad" won the Emmy for comedy; "Stephen Fry: The Secret Life of a Manic Depressive" earned the prize for documentary; "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?" got the nod for non-scripted entertainment and "Simon Schama's Power of Art: Bernini" won the award for arts programming, the trade paper said.
