NEW YORK, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Hollywood star George Clooney has donated $25,000 to the Actors Fund, with the goal of helping striking writers.
The fund offers emergency relief to entertainment industry workers.
Usmagazine.com said the money is to be used to help writers who are financially strapped because of the Writers Guild of America strike.
Clooney said he planned to continue making donations to the fund and encouraged his fellow actors to do likewise.
"My hope is that people who can afford it,will take responsibility for this and help out," he told Variety.
