LONDON, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Amy Winehouse's tour manager has quit his job, claiming drugs he inhales unintentionally as a passenger on the British singer's bus are damaging his health.

Doctors reportedly discovered heroin in Thom Stone's system and the the former manager maintained it came from working in close proximity to Winehouse and her equally troubled husband, Blake Fielder-Civil.

Stone confirmed to the London Sun that he had quit his job, but declined to comment on the physician's findings, which were documented in a note.

"He was constantly bailing her out," a source told the newspaper. "He was watching them get off their heads on drugs and wondering whether Amy was even going to get up on stage. It was a nightmare job."

A Winehouse confidante said the singer is not upset to see Stone go.

"When he produced this note Blake and Amy thought it was a joke," the friend said. "They didn't get on with Thom... They wanted rid of him anyway."
