NEW YORK, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Striking members of the Writers Guild of America East picketed on Wall Street Tuesday, Variety.com said.

The Writers Guild of America East and West chapters went on strike 10 days ago and members of the WGA East were expected to protest outside New York's World of Disney store on Fifth Avenue.

Actors Michael Imperioli, Tina Fey, Seth Meyers and William Mapother and director Tony Gilroy turned out for Tuesday's Wall Street protest, during which leaflets were handed out, stating, "What the writers are asking for is peanuts compared to the millions being lost every day by the corporations' unwillingness to compromise."

As both the scribes and the TV networks and studios that employ them dig their heels in, many Hollywood insiders seem convinced it will be months before the WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers work out a new contract, the entertainment industry trade paper said.

The AMPTP is demanding the WGA suspend the strike so negotiations can resume, but WGA leaders insist they can't return to the table until the AMPTP responds more adequately to the guild's last proposal.
