LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- A former star of the U.S. reality series, "The Apprentice," says her mother canceled plastic surgery by Dr. Jan Adams after checking Adams' background.
Omarosa Manigault -- who appeared with her mother on Adams' "Plastic Surgery Before and After" show on the Discovery Channel -- told "Inside Edition" her mom was scheduled for a full body makeover, but backed out because they thought Adams was unqualified.
"Dr. Adams was immediately eliminated from our list because he didn't have the credentials and he was not board certified," Manigault said.
Adams came under fire after his patient, Donda West -- singer Kanye West's mother -- died after a tummy tuck and breast reduction surgery last week.
The plastic surgeon reportedly has been the target of malpractice suits and has been arrested twice for drunken driving.
