NEW YORK, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Neil Patrick Harris, star of the U.S. sit-com "How I Met Your Mother," donated the $60,452 he won on the game show "Wheel of Fortune" to a children's charity.

Harris competed during the show's "Celebrity Week" and gave his winnings to Children International, a Kansas City, Mo.-based child sponsorship organization.

This is the second time Harris, best-known for his role in "Doogie Howser, M.D.," has generously donated to Children International.

"Children International is ecstatic about Neil Patrick Harris' big win. His donation will help us bring lasting hope to children who live in dire poverty," James R. Cook, president and CEO of Children International said in a statement.
