CHICAGO, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- A special appearance by the Osmond family on Oprah Winfrey's U.S. talk show turned into something of tribute to clan patriarch George Osmond, who died Tuesday.
More than 100 members of the Osmond family had been scheduled to gather in Chicago Thursday to tape a show broadcast Friday.
The family decided to keep their date even though George Osmond, father of Donny and Marie, died Tuesday at the age of 90, People.com reported. Services were held Friday in Provo, Utah.
"My dad is my hero," Marie Osmond told Winfrey. "And I will miss that the most because he was my rock. He was my strength."
"Isn't it interesting how two people can raise a family in show business -- nine children -- and we still love each other," added Donny Osmond.
