McCartney divorce expected to go to trial

LONDON, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Heather Mills' lawyers are no longer representing her in her divorce battle against British rock 'n' roll icon Paul McCartney.

After parting ways with Mishcon de Reya, Mills will now either have to represent herself or find another team to do so.

The situation suggests the divorce is likely to go to trial, the Times of London reported Friday. A trial is set for February.

Mills made international headlines recently when she violated a gag order, went on television in England and the United States and railed against the way McCartney and the media are treating her.

When Mills breached the agreement, she legally allowed her lawyers to distance themselves from her.

A spokesman for Mishcon confirmed the firm was no longer acting for Mills, but declined to explain why or who had made the decision.

Lawyers for McCartney declined to comment, the Times said.
