LONDON, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- British comedian and writer Ricky Gervais plans to wrap his comedy series, "Extras," the same way he did the original "The Office," with a Christmas special.

The final episode of the HBO series about a background player who becomes a huge TV star will be an 80-minute special set to air Dec. 16, Zap2it.com reported Friday.

"Extras" co-creator Stephen Merchant and regulars Ashley Jensen and Shaun Williamson are set to return for the finale, along with a host of British guest stars -- including Clive Owen, David Tennant, George Michael and Gordon Ramsay.
