CHICAGO, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- A Chicago construction crew has unearthed what is being described as Al Capone's "other vault," which will soon be opened on a live Web cast.
A vault belonging to the notorious gangster was opened in 1986 on TV. Although nothing was found inside, 30 million viewers tuned in, reportedly making the special the most-watched syndicated event in TV history.
Even more people are expected to check out this newly found vault when it is unveiled live Nov. 20 at http://www.caponesothervault.com, said Premier Best Video Productions.
Producer Aaron Howell said it was fate that his employer was able to secure the rights to Capone's other vault.
"Growing up near the Detroit-Windsor border, I heard all the old stories about the bootleggers and Al Capone," Howell said in a statement. "As soon as I was tipped off about the vault finding, I pushed really hard to get the rights. I knew we had a chance, because the major networks wouldn't want to air this after what happened the last time around. I'm pretty confident things will be different this time. I can't wait to see what's inside."
