Chesney named CMA entertainer of the year

NASHVILLE, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Kenny Chesney was named entertainer of the year at the 41st annual CMA awards show in Nashville Wednesday.

"I can't believe that I get to stand on the stages I stand on every summer and get to sing the songs I sing," Chesney said. "I love country music and I love doing what I do."

Also nominated in the category were Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, George Strait and Keith Urban.

Carrie Underwood won the prize for female vocalist of the year, while Brad Paisley took home the CMA award for male vocalist of the year.
