LOS ANGELES, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- The Writers Guild of Canada is showing its support for the Writers Guild of America, which is currently on strike, Variety.com said Wednesday.
The Canadian guild's governing body passed a resolution stating: "The issues the WGA is addressing will affect every professional artist seeking compensation for their work in the digital age. Their fight is our fight."
While scribes who belong to both guilds and live in the United States will not be allowed to write for Canadian productions during the strike, dual members living in Canada can write for a Canadian production during the U.S. work stoppage, the entertainment trade paper said.
There are fewer than 300 dual members, most of whom live and work in Los Angeles.
The WGC has a total of 1,900 members.
