Ex-manager: Britney forced me to sue

ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Britney Spears' former manager said he only filed suit against the U.S. pop music star in Florida as a last resort.

"I didn't want to sue Britney," Johnny Wright told People magazine. "But she didn't leave me much choice."

Wright's lawyer, Clay Townsend, said that Spears owes Wright commissions for deals he negotiated while he was her manager. While their business relationship ended in 2003 after four years, the payments run through 2008.

This year, payments have been sporadic and have not included information about how they are calculated, he said. Wright Entertainment is seeking an accounting as well as all payments owed.

Wright, often credited with making Spears a star, told People that he had "magic moments" with her.

"I have worked with Britney in some capacity since she was 15," he said. "She was always focused. She was good at what she did and a very hard worker."
