BURBANK, Calif., Nov. 2 (UPI) -- NBC announced it hired U.S. comedian Dennis Miller as host of its upcoming TV quiz show "Amne$ia."
Miller, a stand-up comedian and the winner of five Emmy Awards, can be heard five days a week on the nationally syndicated radio talk program "The Dennis Miller Show."
"Amne$ia," which comes from Mark Burnett Productions, the producers of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" challenges contestants to answer a variety of questions from their own lives for money and prizes.
"Not only is Dennis an exceptionally talented comedian, he's quick on his feet and has a great way of bringing out the comedic elements in this hilarious new game show," Craig Plestis, of NBC Entertainment, said in a statement.
"I wasn't looking to host another game show but when they brought me ... uh ... uh ... uh ... what's the name of the show again? Oh yeah, 'Amnesia,' I got excited because I immediately realized it's a comedy first that just happens to be wrapped in a game show package and that allows me to be who I am," Miller said.
