NEW YORK, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Ron Wood, guitarist in the British band the Rolling Stones, said he found writing his autobiography to be "therapeutic."

"Ronnie: The Autobiography" (St. Martin's Press) features candid tales about Wood's long career in rock 'n' roll, including tenures in the Jeff Beck Group and the Faces, affairs with Patti Harrison (between her marriages to George Harrison and Eric Clapton) and former Canadian first lady Margaret Trudeau, and his own drug, alcohol and financial problems.

"It's been an adventure for me," Wood said, "and quite therapeutic as well, just remembering and putting everything in its place. It's been like this incredibly complicated jigsaw puzzle with no picture reference.

"I surprised myself with quite a few situations I've been in and got through."

Wood is also compiling a coffee table book showcasing his art work and he said he is considering a second volume of memoirs.
