Mills upset over media's glare

LONDON, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- British activist and former model Heather Mills said the attention surrounding her divorce from Paul McCartney has left her seriously distraught.

Mills cried during an interview with Britain's GMTV Wednesday as she discussed threats made against her and her daughter, as well as the settlement McCartney reportedly offered her, The Times of London said.

"I have been offered nothing, OK? Nothing! We go to court over my daughter," she said in the interview. "These figures are made up -- $207 million, $104 million, $41 million … How do you know if I even want any money? I'm $3 million in debt in lawyer’s fees. And that's as much as I can say or I go to jail for telling the truth. So I'm gagged at the moment because I'm not allowed to say a word while the media are fed this spin by a certain corner."

Mills said she doesn't understand why the media has turned on her in recent years.

"We've had death threats, I've been close to suicide," she told GMTV. "I'm so upset about this. I've had worse threats than a pedophile or a murderer and I've done nothing but charity for 20 years."
