NEW YORK, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Matthew Reeve, the son of late Hollywood screen actor Christopher Reeve, has made a documentary chronicling his father's last years.
The man best-known for playing the Man of Steel in four "Superman" movies, was left paralyzed after breaking his neck in a horse-riding accident in 1995. He died in 2004 from a heart attack brought on by complications from his condition.
His son's new film, "Hope in Motion," will be sold on DVD Nov. 6 through Amazon.com and through the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation at ChrisReeve.org.
Part of the proceeds from its sale will help raise money for spinal-cord research.
Although Matthew was only 15 at the time of his father's accident, he told the New York Post he never spent time thinking about what father-son experiences they might have had.
"I never thought of what I was missing," he said. "Dad came extremely close to not surviving the accident. I think of him all the time. ...
"He was happy. So much pain, yet he'd do it again. He'd be happy to keep going," Matthew said.
