Caan to play mob boss in 'Wisegal'

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor James Caan has signed on to play a crime boss in "Wisegal," a new Lifetime original movie starring Alyssa Milano and Jason Gedrick.

Caan, who just ended a four-year stint on TV's "Las Vegas," previously played mobsters in the movies "The Godfather" and "Mickey Blue Eyes."

Inspired by the true story of Patty Montanari, "Wisegal" is expected to premiere next year, The Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday.

It will be directed by prolific TV director Jerry Ciccoritti from a script by "Cool Money" and "Ladykiller" writer Shelley Evans.
