LOS ANGELES, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Two major upcoming Hollywood film projects will feature the DC Comics superhero Green Lantern, E! Online reported.

The character will appear in the superhero ensemble adventure, "Justice League of America," to be helmed by "Happy Feet" director George Miller and Warner Bros. has commissioned "Everwood" creator Greg Berlanti to co-write and direct a live-action Green Lantern solo project, E! said.

"To me, this was on the last great comic book movie that hasn't been made," Berlanti told the Hollywood Reporter. "It was a comic book with a real mythology that you would see in a lot of the space operas and the sci-fi books. The best part about it, anybody can be become one of the Green Lanterns because anyone can end up with that ring."

It is unclear how the Green Lantern feature will coincide with the "Justice League" movie.

Also still to be determined is whether the same actor will play the part in both movies.

Miller is now casting "Justice League," which will also feature the extraordinary characters Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, the Flash, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter.

It is due in theaters in 2009.
