LOS ANGELES, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- U.S. television personality Gary Collins has been officially charged with drunken driving in Los Angeles, it was reported Monday.

The Los Angeles city attorney has charged Collins with driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level above .08, TMZ.com said. If convicted, Collins could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

The former "New Hollywood Squares" host was arrested last week after crashing his Ford Explorer into another vehicle, the driver of which police believe cut Collins off as he was driving in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

The collision reportedly forced Collins to lose control of his Ford Explorer and veer into the opposite lane, where he hit two parked cars.
