SCRANTON, Pa., Oct. 29 (UPI) -- "The Office" convention in Scranton, Pa., has been declared a hit with those involved already talking about a follow-up event.

The stars of and the creative team behind the top-rated, Scranton-set sit-com turned out during the weekend to meet fans and participate in three days of special events, parties and panel discussions.

The show's executive producer Greg Daniels declared the convention "an enormous success" and said he would be happy to return if another was planned, the Scranton Times-Tribune reported.

"It looks like we're going to do it again," said Michele Dempsey, a Scranton architect who was also one of the convention's planners. "(The cast) wants to do it."

Dempsey said it was a thrill seeing the actors interact with "Office" aficionados, adding, "It's going to take a few weeks to let this sink in and realize what happened here."

"I don't think we'd have gotten this reception in Utica," Daniels said, noting his visit to Scranton reinforced his notion that the city was the right one in which to set the show, which is actually filmed in California.

Daniels also described those attending the convention as "the best fans in television."
