MODENA, Italy, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- The late Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti's widow, Nicoletta Mantovani, denied claims by the media that she is having family and financial problems.

While recent gossip from the Italian media places Mantovani in dire straits in terms of her finances and family, she said she has not been fighting with his three adult daughters from the singer's first marriage over her husband's will and is not in debt, the BBC reported Sunday.

"Luciano was someone who took care of everything in every sense ... meaning he left enough for everyone," the 37-year-old widow said during a recent televised interview.

"Between me and his daughters, there is no disagreement," she added. "The press and television that is trying to incriminate that relationship is truly unseemly."

Mantovani said she decided to address such topics publicly for the first time to ensure her youngest daughter, 4-year-old Alice, could watch it when she was older.

The BBC reported that Mantovani, who lost her husband in September to pancreatic cancer, also confirmed reports that she has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
