LOS ANGELES, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Hollywood actress Jessica Biel has signed on to star in the big-screen adaptation of Megan Abbott's novel "Die a Little," Variety.com reported.

Set in Los Angeles, the contemporary crime thriller is about the impact a mysterious woman has on the lives of a schoolteacher and her police detective brother, the trade paper said.

Biel, who was seen recently in "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" and "Next," is working on the film "Powder Blue" with Forest Whitaker, Patrick Swayze and Ray Liotta.
