LOS ANGELES, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- David Benioff, the screenwriter who wrote the upcoming Hollywood adaptation of "The Kite Runner," is working on a Kurt Cobain bio-pic, Variety.com said.
Benioff also wrote the forthcoming "X-Men" spinoff "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" as well as the Jim Sheridan-directed drama "Brothers."
Universal Pictures has acquired rights to "Heavier Than Heaven," a Cobain biography written by Charles Cross, and hired Benioff to write an untitled drama about the tragic front man of the seminal Seattle grunge rock band, Nirvana.
Cobain's wife, Courtney Love, will executive produce the film with her lawyer Howard Weitzman.
The producers and studio wouldn't discuss the focus of the film or whether they had acquired rights to Nirvana's music.
