Lohan returns to Los Angeles for film

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Lindsay Lohan has returned to Los Angeles to work on a movie after spending much of the summer at a rehab facility in Utah.

Lohan, the 21-year-old star of "Mean Girls" and "A Prairie Home Companion," arrived over the weekend and spent times with friends Sunday, seeing the movie "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" and stopping by a tanning salon, People.com reported.

Lohan was due this week on the set of the tango film "Dare to Love Me."

Her mother, Dina, said Lohan is eager to get back to work, telling People, "Lindsay is very happy and her life is back in control."

Lohan's past isn't completely behind her, however.

She was arrested in July for drunken driving and still has to serve her 24-hour jail sentence arranged as a plea deal.

Lohan has also filed a legal action against a man suing regarding a 2005 car accident in West Hollywood. Raymundo Ortega claimed Lohan was paying more attention to the paparazzi than the road and crashed her Mercedes-Benz into his van. Lohan insisted in her filing last week that it was Ortega who was negligent.
