3 new flicks in Top 10

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Three new movies, led by "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married," broke out in the Top 10 in U.S. theaters this weekend.

The Lionsgate knockoff of "The Big Chill," which parses the dynamics of college friends who get together for their annual reunion, pulled in about $21.5 million in ticket sales in its first weekend, Box Office Mojo reported.

"We Own the Night," a Joaqin Phoenix crime underworld drama, came in at No. 4 at $11 million. "Elizabeth: The Golden Age," the sequel to "Elizabeth," which again stars Cate Blanchett as Queen Elizabeth I, was No. 6 with $6.18 million.

Last week's top film, "The Game Plan," moved to No. 2 at $11.51 million, followed by "Michael Clayton," starring George Clooney in a law firm thriller, which zoomed up from 22nd to third with $11.01 million in sales.

Placing fifth was "The Heartbreak Kid," which slipped from second, at $7.43 million.

The Top 10 also included "The Kingdom," $4.57 million; "Across the Universe" (up from 12th), $4 million; "Resident Evil: Extinction," $2.65 million; and "The Seeker: The Dark is Rising," $2.15 million.

Falling out were: "Good Luck Chuck," "Feel the Noise," "3:10 to Yuma (2007)," "The Brave One" and "Mr. Woodcock."
