LOS ANGELES, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- U.S. rap artist Common has lined up a list of luminaries for his new video, "I Want You," which was co-directed by Kerry Washington and Sanji Senaka.
Premiering this week, the video features songstress Alicia Keys, rapper Kanye West, actor Derek Luke, tennis star Serena Williams, Will.I.Am and Washington, who has starred in "Ray" and "The Last King of Scotland," Geffen Records said in a statement.
"I Want You," produced by Will.I.Am, is the latest single from Common's "Finding Forever" CD, which debuted earlier this year at No. 1 on Billboard's "Hot 200" chart.
Keys and Common -- who both appeared on the big screen in last year's "Smokin' Aces" -- play lovers in the new video, which was inspired by the 1986 Mickey Rourke/Kim Basinger erotic film, "9 1/2 Weeks."
"Kerry and I have always admired each other's work and always wanted to collaborate on a project. When we began planning for the video for 'I Want You,' I reached out to Kerry to star in it and it developed into her directing. She had a strong vision for the song that grabbed me from the start so we got our cast and crew together and made it happen," Common said.
