LONDON, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- U.S. singer Kenny Rogers is recording a video message of support for England's rugby team, which has made his song "The Gambler" its unofficial anthem.

The country music icon's video is set to be shown to the players before their match against France Saturday, The Telegraph has reported.

"The Daily Telegraph told me that before you beat the Australians in your last game, you were all singing along to 'The Gambler.' I don't know a whole lot about rugby, but it's a song that means a lot to me and I'm mighty proud that you guys found something in it to be your inspiration," Rogers said in a message addressed to the players Tuesday.
