LOS ANGELES, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- U.S. comedian Chevy Chase has signed on for a multi-episode arc on the ABC drama "Brothers & Sisters."

Chase is an iconic "Saturday Night Live" alum who starred in the 1980s big-screen comedies "Fletch," "National Lampoon's Vacation" and "Caddyshack."

He is to play Stan Hirsh, the former high school boyfriend of Sally Field's character, Nora Walker, and is scheduled to start filming his part Thursday, the Hollywood Reporter said.

Danny Glover also joins the cast this season as Nora's new love interest.
