LOS ANGELES, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Grammy-winning U.S. R&B singer Bobby Brown still hopes to perform this weekend, even though he suffered a mild heart attack Tuesday.

By Wednesday morning, Brown, 40, who had no history of heart problems, was in "great spirits and has a great prognosis from his doctors," his representative, Phaedra Parks, told People.com. Doctors attributed the attack to "stress and diet," she said.

"He's recovering nicely," she said

That didn't stop him from making a goodbye video for friends and family just in case, E! News reported.

He was expected to be released from the hospital later in the day.

"We thank everybody for their thoughts and prayers. We really appreciate the outpouring of support," Parks said.

Brown is still hoping to perform at the V100 Taste of Soul concert and festival in Los Angeles Saturday.

Meanwhile, Brown is due in an Orange County courtroom Oct. 22 for a hearing in his ongoing custody battle with ex-wife Whitney Houston over 14-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina.
