NORTH BERGEN, N.J., Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Dozens of doctors and hospital employees at Palisades Medical Center in New Jersey were suspended for allegedly leaking information about actor George Clooney.

Clooney and his girlfriend, Sarah Larson, were treated at the hospital after a minor motorcycle accident last month and the numerous hospital personnel were suspended for giving the actor's medical information to the media, WCBS has reported.

Hospital officials are now looking into whether staffers not directly involved in caring for Clooney and Larson, logged into the hospital computer system to review his medical records.

"This is the first I've heard of it,"Clooney told TMZ through a representative. "And while I very much believe in a patient's right to privacy, I would hope that this could be settled without suspending medical workers."

TMZ said calls to the Palisades Medical Center were not immediately returned.
