Carvey's new comedy gig is on Web

LOS GATOS, Calif., Oct. 8 (UPI) -- U.S. comedian Dana Carvey offers witty commentary on 11 classic films in a new online comedy video, Netflix announced.

Starring Carvey -- an Emmy Award-winning "Saturday Night Live" alum -- the video can be viewed for free this Friday and Saturday.

Included in "Netflix Now Playing 'Down in Front with Dana Carvey'" will be Carvey's take on films like "North by Northwest," "Singin' in the Rain," "The Exorcist," "Rio Bravo" and "True Lies."

"Everything was shot guerrilla-style over two days," Carvey said in a statement. "In the miniature TV studio that I set up in my spare bedroom."

The video was created to show viewers some of the many films Netflix subscribers can enjoy.

"We're thrilled to join forces with Dana to showcase, as only he can, the pleasure of watching high-quality video instantly over the Internet," said Ted Sarandos, chief content officer for Netflix. "We're also thrilled that a number of our major studio partners have contributed clips of the movies, which help make the production a unique tribute to cinema's classics."
